Admission Requirements
- Admission to the NSS Certificate program requires a BS degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- Applicants must have completed either ME 455/655 Fundamentals of Nuclear Engineering or HPS 701 Applied Nuclear Physics (or an equivalent course).
- The program is open to both MSMNE students and non-admitted students.
- The Director of the NSS Certificate Program may waive the prerequisite course requirement if an applicant can demonstrate equivalent knowledge from relevant work experience.
- This work experience may include the Navy nuclear reactor program or extensive training at a NRC-licensed or DOE process facility.
- The waiver must be approved by the Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and reviewed by nuclear engineering faculty.
