- Contact a faculty member in the Astronomy program to discuss your options as a prospective major at KU
- Take as many math and science classes as possible during high school, with a focus on Physics and preferably Pre-Calculus and Calculus
- Consider taking AP classes in Math and/or Physics to better prepare for university-level courses
- Check the Department of Physics and Astronomy website for detailed lists of course sequences for a B.S. and B.A. in Astronomy
- Keep in mind that the average ACT score for incoming Astronomy and Physics majors is between 28 and 30, as a rough measure of preparation level
