- Complete either ACT or SAT
- Complete an English proficiency test if non-native English speaker or not studying in English-medium curriculum
- Submit one-page personal essay and short essay questions specific to Duke
- Provide three letters of recommendation: one from school counselor and two from teachers in major academic courses
