Admission Requirements
- B.S. degree in Geology or related field (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering) required for admission
- Conditional admission may be granted for those without appropriate coursework in Geology or related fields, but any deficiencies must be completed during first year without graduate credit
- University requirements for admission, with exception that GPA in last 60 units must be 2.75 or above
- Applicants with GPA in last 60 units between 2.5 and 2.75 may still be admitted if Geology GPA or major GPA in last 60 units is 3.0 or above
- Geology GPA must be 3.0 or above for B.S. in Geology degree holders
- Major GPA must be 3.0 or above for B.S. degree holders in a related field
- Strong support from willing faculty research advisor and recommendation for admission from majority of full-time faculty members.
